The Fine Print
Privacy
Policy
What we collect when you visit, why we collect it, and how to switch the tracking off. Plain English, no legalese marathon.
The Short Version
We track visits. We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to see how the site gets used and to show our ads to people who've stopped by.
Google and Meta see it too. They collect info about your visit through cookies and may connect it to your Google, Facebook, or Instagram account.
We don't sell your info for money. Your email only goes to our newsletter, your order, or a reply from us.
You can opt out. The links are cookie banner at the bottom of each page.
Who we are
Altitude Addiction Clothing Co. ("Altitude Addiction," "we," "us") is a snowmobiling apparel brand based in Sheridan, Wyoming. This policy covers altitudeaddictionwyo.com and the info we collect through it. It doesn't cover Instagram or other sites we link to. Those have their own policies.
What we collect
Info you give us
Newsletter: your email address when you sign up for new gear and restock emails.
Contact form: your name, email, the topic you pick, and whatever you write in your message.
Orders: your name, email, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and what you bought. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
Info collected automatically
Device and browser: browser type, operating system, screen size, and language.
How you use the site: pages you view, how long you stay, scrolls and clicks, links you follow, products you look at or add to your cart, and the site, search, or ad that sent you here.
Rough location: city, region, and country, estimated from your IP address.
Identifiers: your IP address, plus cookie IDs and similar identifiers set by Google and Meta.
Analytics & advertising
We use two outside tools to measure the site and run ads. Both set cookies or similar tech in your browser, and both companies handle what they collect under their own privacy policies, not just ours.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics shows us how people find and use the site. Beyond basic page views, we've turned on:
Enhanced measurement: records scrolls, outbound link clicks, site searches, video plays, and file downloads.
Google Signals: if you're signed in to Google with ad personalization on, Google can link your visits across devices and give us combined reports on visitor age ranges, gender, and interests. We only see totals, never who you are.
Advertising features and remarketing: lets us build ad audiences from site visits, show our ads to past visitors on Google, YouTube, and partner sites, and measure how those ads perform.
Enhanced conversions: when you enter your email in a form or at checkout, it's hashed (scrambled into a one-way code) in your browser and sent to Google so it can match purchases and sign-ups to the ads that led to them.
Google says Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses. It uses them briefly to estimate location. Learn more in how Google uses info from sites that use its services.
Meta Pixel
The Meta Pixel is a piece of code from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It tells Meta when you view a page or product, add something to your cart, sign up, or buy. We use it to show our ads to people who've visited the site and to people with similar interests, and to see which ads actually lead to visits and sales.
We've turned on Advanced Matching. When you type your email, name, or phone number into a form here, the Pixel hashes it in your browser and sends the hash to Meta, which uses it to match your visit to a Facebook or Instagram account. See Meta's privacy policy for how Meta uses this data.
Cookies and tools at a glance
Our hosting and store providers may also set cookies the site needs to work, like keeping track of your cart.
How we use your info
Run the site, fill and ship your orders, and answer your messages.
Send the newsletter you signed up for. Unsubscribe anytime.
Figure out what's working on the site and fix what isn't.
Show our ads to past visitors and people like them, and measure how those ads perform.
Keep the site secure, prevent fraud, and follow the law.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal info for money. We share it only with:
Google and Meta, through the tools above. They may also use it for their own purposes, like improving their ad services, under their own policies.
Service providers who help run the business: website hosting, our newsletter service, our store and payment processor, and shipping carriers. They only get what they need to do the job.
Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.
A new owner, if Altitude Addiction is ever sold or merged, customer info may transfer with the business.
Heads up: under some U.S. state privacy laws, letting Google and Meta collect data on our site for ad targeting can count as "selling" or "sharing" personal info, or as "targeted advertising," even though no money changes hands. You have the right to opt out of that, and the next section shows you how.
Your choices
The tracking runs in your browser, so these switches are the most reliable way to turn it off:
Google Analytics: install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google ads: turn off personalized ads in My Ad Center.
Meta: in Accounts Center, open Ad preferences to control the ads you see, or go to Your information and permissions, then Your activity off Meta technologies to disconnect activity from sites like ours.
Industry opt-outs: the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative let you opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at once.
Your browser: block or delete cookies, browse privately, or use a tracker-blocking extension. Some parts of the site, like the cart, may not work right without cookies.
Email: every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.
Browsers' "Do Not Track" setting isn't a common standard, so the site doesn't currently respond to it. Use the options above instead.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
Find out what personal info we have about you and get a copy.
Correct anything that's wrong.
Have us delete it.
Opt out of targeted advertising, or the "sale" or "sharing" of your info.
Appeal if we turn down your request.
To make a request, email us from the address you used with us. We'll confirm it's you and get back to you within 45 days. We won't treat you any differently for using your rights. Info that Google and Meta collect directly is controlled by them, so use the links in the cookie banner at the bottom of the page for that.
We're a U.S. business and the site is aimed at riders in the U.S. If you visit from somewhere else, your info is processed in the United States, and you may have extra rights under your local law. Reach out and we'll help.
How long we keep it
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Messages: as long as we need to help you and follow up.
Orders: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Google Analytics: visitor-level data is deleted after no more than 14 months. Combined reports with no personal details may be kept longer.
Meta: under Meta's own retention policies.
We use reasonable safeguards like HTTPS and trusted providers to protect your info, but no website is 100% secure.
Kids
This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal info. If you think a child under 13 has sent us info, email us, and we'll delete it. Young riders reaching out about the crew: if you're under 18, get a parent or guardian involved before you send us your info.
Changes to this policy
When what we collect or how we use it changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
